This is an all new run ... please do not confuse these with the old Bachmann SD-45's you might have known many many moons ago. This is an all new loco from the ground up with the following leading edge features:
  • All new DCC ready frame
  • Die cast low friction split frame mechanism
  • All wheel pick-up / drive
  • 5 Pole, skew wound armiture motor
  • Dual machined brass flywheels
  • WHITE LED lighting
  • N scale NMRA wheel flange profile
  • Converts to Micro-Trains© using easily obtained 1015 (kit) or 1015-1 (assembled) conv.
  • Ultra-fine detail parts
It may seem odd that we would highlight in BOLD print the "ultra-fine detail parts" --- but of all the improvements made by Bachmann, this is perhaps the most important (after performance). Older Bachmann locos often had chunky HO scale detail ... these "new and improved" locos are a vast improvement. In the words of George Orwell, "Less is More". Congratulations Bachmann on a superb job! You gotta see 'em up close to appreciate what a fine job was done on these.

Give 'em credit - Bachmann does their Undec loco right. The detail parts are not "glued in", but included in a plastic bag. And if ever there was an SD-45 you wanted -- I can think of no better mechanism to paint. This new and improved Bachmann SD45 is truly worthy of "wearing" the colors of your favorite railroad / paint scheme.
