Description: This
typical American small town hardware store features beautifully
detailed hydrocal
castings, full color signs (including the sandwich board
sign advertising TV’s for the front of the store),
plastic doors and windows, a small stretch of weathered sidewalk,
complete, easy to understand painting and weathering instructions
and even a small TV so you can detail the store front window.
Randy spent a lot of time on the master patterns for this
kit & feels it is among his best work ever.
Construction Method: Cast Hydrocal
plaster walls, plastic door & windows and full color
paper signs and awnings. Brick sidewalks included.
Construction Time: Modelers of average
skill should be able to finish this kit in 2 or 3 evenings.
Easy
to understand
step by step instructions are provided to walk you through
each step of construction, from gluing the kit together to
final painting and aging.
Tools Required: Hobby
knife, sanding block, 5 minute epoxy, super glue, paint brushes.

huge warehouse is a "flat" and consists of 3 walls
only--the front and 2 sides. It is designed to be used as
a backdrop
building as it is only 3 1/2" deep x 28" long.
(In a tight space situation, the side walls can be omitted
or shrunk
to make the profile even narrower). What
an impressive background to park a long string of cars in
front
of! Kit features beautifully detailed
hydrocal castings, laser cut wood loading dock doors, a complete
sign
set as well as instructions for painting and aging. A great

Background Kit uses. The "back wall" of any layout is often
a "weak spot", visually. Some modelers simply add a "sky"
backdrop or if space permits build a mountain area with
some tree cover. The advantage of flat background kits such
as this lie in the fact that in spite of their very narrow
width, they add great depth to the layout by giving the
impression that something is "there". Trains passing by
in front an impressive structure such as this come alive
with a sense of purpose, their motion is highlighted as
they pass by. Or, if space permits, you can add a siding
in front of this warehouse. As the photo above illustrates,
it looks
great
with freight!!!
