Advance Reservations
It increasingly seems that more and more new items are "limited production". The manufacture makes an announcement, gives a cut-off-date, and then produces product based on the actual number of orders received. It is increasingly rare for manufacturers/importers to make more than they have actual orders for. While our policy has always been to reserve extras -- they can and often do disappear very quickly. If you are interested in something new -- your best bet is to reserve that item in advance. At BLW, we do not charge your card until the item is actually ready for shipment. (A very few items call for a non-refundable deposit - they are clearly marked.
Your reservation is a commitment to purchase the product when it comes in. If for some reason you must cancel, please do so before the product is in stock. Please be advised that NO RESERVATION IS CANCELLED UNTIL YOU RECEIVE AN EMAIL NOTIFICATION confirming the cancellation. Once an order has been processed and shipping notification has been sent, SHIPPING CHARGES ARE NOT REFUNDABLE.

Return Policy
Our goal is your satisfaction
and our return policy is a simple one. So long as the
item(s) purchased is (are) in "as new condition", it
(they) can be returned to BLW within 21 days after receiving
the shipment. The product(s) must be returned in the
original packaging. Any item (including the packaging)
that has been altered from its original condition as
delivered will not be accepted as a return. BLW cannot
accept as returns any items that have been "special ordered"
-- not regularly listed on our web site but specifically
ordered at your request.

way to return merchandise
We
recommend shipping your return via UPS or US Priority
Mail, whichever is most convenient to you.
Both services provide tracking and insurance options.
For your protection, be sure to wrap well and insure
against
loss/damage.
BLW
is
not
responsible
for merchandise
that is lost or damaged enroute to us.
When
returning merchandise for any reason, please
be sure to include:
1) a brief explanation as to why the product
is being returned.
2) all original packaging, instructions, warranty cards,
etc for the product being sent back.
3) the course of action you wish BLW to take. (Refund,
replacement, issue a credit slip, etc.)

Reimbursement
for return shipping
BLW will only reimburse "ground" shipping costs if
an item is returned because of an error made by us.
(i.e. you were sent an incorrect item -- we try
our best, but admit to not being perfect). While
we do not cover your return costs on an item that
may be defective, we do provide free shipping of
the replacement being sent back to you.
Refused
Packages
If you "refuse" delivery of a package shipped by UPS (United Parcel Service),
they charge the shipper return shipping fees. On refused packages received back
at Brooklyn Locomotive Works, we refund the actual cost of the merchandise returned,
but do not refund shipping charges ... as these are not refunded to us by the
shipper.
